I'm getting ready to install the nose gear gas strut. The instructions tell me to install the brackets so there is 3/8" distance where the strut needs to be compressed to install it onto the drag link assy. Here's the question. How do I compress the gas strut when I want to attach it to the drag link? This things got around 100lb pressure load on it right? For the life of me, I can't figure out how I'm going to compress it to put it together with the drag link. Any suggestions? Curtis N753K [Remove the pivot bolt from the middle of the over center links so the drag link will rotate beyond its normal range of travel. Attach the gas strut to the drag link and then raise the trailing o/c link back into position. You'll probably find it a bit difficult to raise that trailing link into position and then align and reinstall the pivot bolt if you try to do it manually, so I'd suggest using a little bottle jack to raise it and compress the gas strut. With the jack holding everything in the proper position, getting the pivot bolt back in and the o/c links back together should be a snap. I hope this helps. ] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML homepage: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html
