Another condolence from another "club member', mine collapsed at the Redmond Races several years ago in similiar circumstances.. Double wow !! The old style nose gear GM14 had failed, replaced with the oleo type.. When servicing the oleo, would second Skips comment about working all the bubbles out, a very lengthly process with my old style oleo, anyway.. WIth mine you can hear the sound of a bubble as you move the wheel from side to side, going thru an orifice. This, Lancairs' Decker said, is the antishimming device in the oleo, a bubble is a shimmy and they are cumulative to the rest of the mount...
