One big caution here. You do not want to borrow or
use bead blasting equipment where the history of the media is unknown.
Glass bead blasters frequently get used on rusty, dirty or greasy parts
(automotive) and the blasted off material becomes part of the blasting
media.
Before using blasting equipment for pre-bonding preparation be sure
that the equipment is clean and the media is fresh. You also want to be
sure there is a moisture trap and filter on the air supply to prevent
oil contamination from the compressor. Experiment to find the best air
pressure and bond up some test coupons to validate your procedure.

<<Sounds crazy … but has anybody tried sand blasting or
bead blasting a
surface in lieu of sanding before applying epoxy/glass?
