In theory, they have a = lot of advantages over incandescent bulbs. The advantages include; lower = power consumption (about 1/3), 20,000 hr+ bulb life (as opposed to about = 100 hrs with incandescent), brighter, less heat, cheaper to buy, more = pure color, and lighter (22 gauge wire vs. 18 gauge). The questions I have about them include; will they fit in our slim = wingtips? Any interference with magnetometers in the wingtips? Any radio = interference? Here are two sites that I've found for LED nav lights. Any comments on = either of these companies?
