TruTrak has sourced three brands of gyros... the most recent are pretty good, but give them 30seconds of no acceleration (stand still) after powering up on the ground... or if one must start in the air, or power cycle in the air, stay the course for 30sec... the gyros are also heat sensitive... there should be no wing wag or hunting, if so, hold down the knob for 5sec and decrease the "activity" for pitch or roll... > Hot starts ... as soon as I let off the starter, it would die. hit the low boost right after fireing... you will be able to turn it off in 30sec, but it will keep the io-550 running long enough to cool the engine mounted fuel pump.
