This is a real heartbreaker for me, as it will be the first time in about 15 years I won't get to enjoy my summer visit with my extended Lancair family. Additionally, the folks at EAA scheduled The Lancair Forum for Monday afternoon (7/25) at 2:30PM, a time which I really don't see as workable... not everyone is there for the first day of the show. While these issues are problematic, I don't see either of them as a reason to forego the Lancair Builders' and Flyers' Forum this year. First of all, I have made arrangements with the folks at EAA for us to use one of the forum structures on either Thursday or Friday evening, from 7:00 to 8:15 PM. This time is after the usual forum schedule, after the airshow, when everything is quiet and things can be run at a much more leisurely pace. Rob Logan has kindly offered to fill in for me as the host/emcee, so we've got someone to run the show. Thanks, Rob!! I am looking to the LML for several more "presenters"... we already have a great safety talk scheduled, and Rob is going to do about 15 minutes on building and maintaining the Legacy. I thought it would be nice to find a 320/360 builder/flier, an ES builder/flier and a IV/IVP builder/flier, each to do similar presentations about the care and feeding of each of thir resepctive models, now that they have logged some hours, been through a couple annuals, and are in a position to detail some of the ongoing maintenance issues that everyone gets to face. I see each presentation as requiring about 15 minutes, and we can use the digital projectors to display photos and other materials as required. So, if you have a feeling about which evening you'd prefer, please let me know in a private email to marv@lancair.net and I'll make the final arrangements later this week based on a majority vote. Please do the same if you'd like to help with the presentations, or if you have any suggestions for other topics you'd rather see presented. While I may not be able to be there physically, I guatantee that I'll be there in spirit, and in the meantime I'll do whatever I can to help make the forum as enjoyable and informational as possible. Thanks in advance for your help and support.
