Try pressing an insert out using a "C" clamp for pressure and a socket from a socket wrench set behind the flange for clearance. My inserts are not overly snug and some of them have a slight freeplay wiggle. Maybe a drill fixture of sorts can be made up to assist with a good alignment. I don't have a Mooney but can offer some LNC2 time. Maybe one day this weekend we can get together.
