The T-shirts are ordered, the hotel reservations are made (hopefully!), and the schedule is set. We have over 30 planes registered! It is important for all first timers and those that have not been to the ground school to be at the airport terminal building at 0900 sharp on Friday. Unfortunately, you will not be able to fly unless you have attended this ground school, either at this event or previously. Go to www.westcoastformation.com/news.html for a complete schedule of events. If you have not yet registered for a hotel, there is information on hotels posted at www.westcoastformation.com/events.html Again, please make sure take the time to become conversant in the T-34 Formation Manual concepts, hand signals, and procedures. It is critical to your safety and the safety of everyone who flies with you that you approach this in the same professional manner you approached your last check ride. Yes, studying sucks, but it's better than sitting on the ground learning at the clinic while everyone else is out flying! Do you know what the hand signal is for a fuel state check? What does the 2nd "E" in HEFOE stand for? What's the definition of "sucked" (formation answer only!)? What is the difference between an "overshoot" and an "under run"? Yes, studying sucks, but it's better than sitting on the ground learning at the clinic while everyone else is out flying! If that isn't enough motivation, then perhaps the merciless flogging and bar tab from buying the first round for everyone is! ;) Stu McCurdy, our check airman who will be conducting the ground school, will arrive at MHV Thursday mid-afternoon. I will arrive late Thursday. There are no scheduled activities, but those there on Thurs. evening can get together for dinner, we can meet at The Mariah hotel at 1900 and go from there... If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directly at this email address. Registration is open right up to the event. We will be taking payment on site, and due to the attendance figures the fee has been reduced from $150 to $100 per participant.
