On Monday, 21 March 2005, N23LF metamorphosed, from a collection of various
parts (over almost a two year time span) to a fearsome, powerful antigravity
 machine.

The weather in the San Francisco area was bad enough that Dave Morss elected
to keep his Legacy in the hanger and travel to San Diego via United
 Airlines.

I picked him up at Lindberg Field and transported him to Brown Field where
he set his eyes on Miss Karen II (Super Legacy, Race #44) for the first
time. She was nestled, partially disrobed, in Darryl Greenamyer's hanger.

Soon the paper was fluttering as the FAA squares were filled one by one.
Hands and fingers were poking and prodding various corners. Crawling around
here and there, Dave satisfied himself that she was ready to take the next
 step of her young life.

With that decided, we dressed her back up and her appearance again regal.

With the sun shining through scattered clouds her engine roared to life and
she skipped off the ramp, down the taxiway to the end of the runway.

Dave got clearance from the tower, girded up his loins, pushed the (left
hand) throttle forward. She took the bit in her mouth and the next thing
Dave knew, with half throttle, he was looking at 30 inches of MP. That fast
Miss Karen said,"let's fly". And they did!

There were a few minor glitches that are being addressed, but she is well
rigged and is awaiting her next flight.

 Pictures are enclosed.

 PS

Dave said something about he likes his Legacy just fine, but it lacks the
muscle of the new breed of Legacy.
