The F-4 I used to fly felt a lot different when it was loaded with three external fuel tanks, four Aim-9s, four Sparrows, two loaded TERs, and a full load of 20MM, than it did when it was clean. It had to be flown differently loaded, than when clean. Somehow I managed to do that safely, even with Gomers shooting at me! :) :) included in the post below is reference to Dave Morss's LA to Lakeland 6 hour record. I assume he didn't land with empty tanks? Anyone know how much gas he had? (this is pertinent to the thread). I don't know what the tailwind was that day but workiing backwards it looks like he had to have more than 140 gals ------=_NextPart_000_0004_01C4FC14.954E0400 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
