As I recall, the manual calls for a small hole thru the fuselage side, with a piece of aluminum tubing glassed inside to attach PVC tubing that runs up to the instruments.. My S-TEC 55 autopilot came with 2 little air fittings with an air-dam that mounts in front of the fitting. Since the autopilot uses static air, I think the air dam's insure non turbulent air for the autopilot.
