We put a VOR antenna (Jim Weir's design/kit) in the left wing, along with
one of his designs for a glideslope antenna. We also put a VOR antenna from
Bob Archer in the right wing. We hooked an ICOMM radio to both of
them and picked up clear voice transmissions from an Atlanta Center sector
that is about 45 miles away. Not bad for horizontally installed nav
antennas, on the ground, in a hangar!! We could not tell any difference
between the two VOR antennas.
We used the same material from Jim for the marker beacon antenna.

I have a nav antenna in my right wing of my Super ES. I have also been
told by Lancair that these antennas are not satisfactory and that they are recommending the >> whisker antenna for nav.
