Tim Ong must be on LML distribution, because he quickly sent the
following responses and photo of the new shock absorber that he's
developing. Rather than a conventional coil spring/dampener assembly, it
appears to be a compressed gas strut. I think it will be one of the most
functional and best-looking improvements ever for the two place Lancair. His

My name is Timothy Ong. I'm the one with the shocks. I'm currently doing
testing on them. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Here is a jpeg
picture of what they look like.
The prototype was finished two days before the Moffett airshow. I have a
good bit of testing off and on an airplane. The will be ready for OSH
though.
Additionally, I will probably create a web site (time permitting) with all
testing accomplished. That way, I can aircraft owner opinions on
additional testing that I did not think of.
