I believe most of the posts get cut.  I cut mine about 1.5".  I used a typical tubing cutter.  It worked great.  The other problem you may find is that the grip will hit the left fueselage if you leave it too long.

I was curious if any ES, or IVP builders found the need to shorten the control posts when using an Infinity grip?  Due to the many wires and switches, and required aluminum bushing, you can’t slip the grip all the way down over the control post.  Is it ok to cut it down?  If so, how much do I cut?
