We have a similar layout - not the same, but similar. I do wear a long billed baseball cap to cut the overhead distraction and peer though the smallish reflection-free wedge for night operations. My Air Traffic Detector keeps me awake. I am sure the extension would keep my Garmin 430 from fading out in the sunlight, too.
