We have been selling a sunlight readable open architecture annunciator panel and control board for many years. In fact, Lancair folks were the 1994 beta testers and we have since made many improvements to our annunciator and control PCB. It is lit with LEDs and is very hardy. LEDs require current limiting resistors otherwise they will burn out very quickly. Properly configured LED have a life of over 100,000 hours. We have not been selling the annunciators individually because they are expensive. Perhaps we should change our policy. Colors available are red and amber. The AML Microswitch package which I suspect you have are not sunlight readable. Our AML package is custom modified with the latest technology LEDs and are current limited within the package.
