Marv,
I suspect you are applying power directly to the flap motor. In the
recommended flap circuit, the relays place a short across the motor when
power is removed, which greatly reduces coasting.

PS: Strangely enough, I have a 1986 150WOG dump valve which has never
leaked. When I turn on the master after 24hrs, most of the time the pump
does not come on.
[Thanks, Bob, you've hit the nail on the head. Testing the actuator
didn't require the complete flap circuit and had I had the sense to look
at the schematic I would have found the answer. Besides, it's a lot
easier (and more fun) to toss out these 'pop quizzes' every now and again,
just to make sure that we're all paying attention <G>. Thanks again.
