When I saw the 150PSIG working pressure stamped on the valve body of the
dump valve supplied by Neico, I set it aside and installed a REAL valve
designed to handle the pressure.
I happened to have a SS Whitey metal-on-metal plug valve laying around
which was rated at 10,000 PSI. I put that one in.
The only cycling I get is due to temperature. After a hot day, the fluid
expands and pressure builds up and relives through the internal RV in the
pump. Then when it cools off the next night, the pressure goes back down
and the pump cycles for an instant to when the master switch is turned on
the next time.
Just a reminder: The reason many of us po'-folks chose the Lancair kit in
the first place was that we could afford to build it, and afford to fly it.
So sure, Lance used the cheapest cra^H^H^H stuff he could find in order to
keep the kit price down. Any of us who are unhappy with what he provided
are free to upgrade, as I have done a number of times.
That's probably why I am not flying yet <sigh>...
