My hydraulic plumbing in the cockpit is now nearly complete and should have
the first gear-up party soon. The pump is located directly behind the pilot
seat and it was not possible to fabricate 1/4" aluminum lines (which run to
the manifold), in such a way as to make them removable when seat back and
center console are permanently bonded in place. For this reason, I made all
the lines out of Aeroquip 2807 Teflon hose and Aeroquip SuperGem fittings.
Made for a very neat installation.
One point worth noting. If you don't make provision now for autopilot roll
servo installation (under co-pilot seat), you will most likely have a big
headache later on. Most if not all of the hydraulic lines going to the right
gear and gear door will need to be removed and replaced. Fortunately, I have
my S-Tec roll servo now so was able to route all lines around it.
