My test area was all of Eastern Colorado.  I had to stay out of the mountains, MOAs and the Denver Class B.  He said he would have given me an even larger area but he's only authorized to the state line.  The corners of the state are about 160nm from home!  Maybe because there's nothing out there but prairie and an occasional antelope.  Even with that much area it was awfully boring.
