There does seem to be some leeway in the requirements. My DAR had built 7 planes himself and was quite knowledgeable and supportive. He said that my GlaStar's non-cert remanufactured Lyc and a non-approved Hartzell prop combination was OK and he approved it for 25 hr. I then asked for a further decrease and the DAR agreed to 15 hr followed by a ferry permit to get it home. Robert M. Simon, N301ES (ES-P kit arrived Redmond last week!)
