Regarding identifacation of aircraft to ATC. I
believe there are two classes of experimental and ATC has to differentiate
between Experimental homebuilt and Experimental Exibition. The distinction being
Homebuilt have the same privileges as certificated aircraft while Exibition
aircraft are limited to special operating limitations to include various ingress
and egress to different airports. Exhibition aircraft are non-certificated
aircraft which either do not meet the homebuilt 51% rule(ie factory aircraft
that have been altered or foreign war birds ) The FAA wants this class of
aircraft away from populated areas.
