Hello Hamid
The accident you referred to was a sky diver in the Northampton area of
Massachusetts just north of Springfield striking a Piper Comanche or 6 (I
don't recall which) that had several folks in it. The Piper was cruising
northbound over the Connecticut river as many do. The skydiver struck the
horizontal stab. The Piper crashed and all were killed. The lessons I
learned from that were: 1. Always have radar advisories so you can hear the
ATC broadcasts of jumpers away, 2. To ask ATC where the jumpers are relative
to me if I don't know the area well, 3. To buy an airplane with a bubble
canopy (Legacy).
