You didn't mislead me. I knew exactly what you were doing - your first
successful engine start, just as you stated.
Of course, you weren't doing high power run-ups in front of AeroCrafter's
hangar! Congratulations on getting your beautiful Legacy ready to go flying.
We all know what a significant accomplishment that is.
Still, I appreciate Brent's comments. That started a good thread of
discussion and might save someone a great deal of angst in the future. That
is precisely the benefit of having this list!

The photo of my first start is just that. I never ran the motor over
1500 RPM. For the full-power run ups blocks were clamped to the nose
strut to keep it from compressing, plane tied down by the tail, all
wheels chocked and the nose wheel sat on a 2x6 to further give the prop
more ground clearance. Oh, and a lucky rabbit foot was on board. A
Priest and holy water never showed up though.

first start,
