Hello,

I finally completed fixing my nose gear hydraulic cylinder hard point
attachment on my Lancair (N360ZR).  This time, I made sure that BOTH the
retract and the extension cycles bottoms-out the cylinder, as per advice on
this forum.  I had to use the mechanical collar stop that Lancair supplies.
BTW, I checked the main gear cylinders and both of them DO bottom-out on both
ends.  I guess I did something right for a change...

I made the hard point as 'bulletproof' as possible.  The bid schedule I used
had an  initial 6-bid over the top of the gear tunnel, going down
approximately 6 inches down the sides and about 2 inches going down,
fore-aft.   I decided to add another 3-bid to this since all the bid lay-ups
were done on the top side and none on the bottom side.  I then installed the
phenolic hard point, now a bit more aft than the original location and
covered this hard point with another 6-bid.  If I exploded a dynamite or two
underneath this section, I believe it will remain intact! <G>.

I did a couple of retract and extension test after this and had to adjust the
nose gear door pressure release valve.  Everything else looked good.  I'm now
ready to fly again and have scheduled myself to get some flying done
tomorrow.  Can't wait, withdrawal symptoms are starting to creep-up on me...

Thanks to all that contributed in helping me lick this most recent 'bug'.
