We are using the Dynon D-10A as a backup. A friend has one installed in his Europa. The aircraft has a geard prop on a Rotax engine. John noticed that when retarding the power through a certain rpm, the display would jiggle and read off center in pitch and roll. One day he stopped at that point and the dispaly went to 90 degree roll and a 90 degree pitch down. A/C at this time was straight and level. He could then consistently replicate the problem. He passed the info to Dynon, which they termed "hugely important". Turns out that that engine rpm is at the refresh frequency of the Dynon and it goes bonkers. I am certainly not repeating this accurately, but the problem is there and is now well known. They furnished a software fix for it.

I have a Dynon EFIS 10 in my IVP as a backup. It is not stable and will
show +/- 5-10 degree swings and accompanying vertical oscillations.
This is a problem that Dynon has addressed and has a beta software
release that I was sent last week.
