 Ian, you are correct in assuming that the door was fully open--this I had
confirmed by the tower on fly past. Previously I suspected it was at least
partially open. What is bizarre is that everything closes just fine on the
ground. That is why the mechanics are at a loss to explain the behaviour in
the air. I've been given to understand that there is a spring to assist door
opening (the rather obvious spring one sees on looking into the wheel well
attached directly to the door). Is there also one to assist door closure?
