It is easy for you to check. Put the A/C on
the jacks and cycle the gear. If the nose door stays open check the
plunger operated sequence valve to see that it is depressed when the gear is
fully raised, if not depressed, lower the gear and adjust the valve.
If yes check the hydraulic connection to the cylinder by cracking it open
very carefully. If you get a squirt of
fluid there the cylinder is under pressure. You will then need to remove
the cylinder to check if the actuating rod is bent or there is some mechanical
obstruction within the cylinder. If no pressure at the connection you will
have to trace the line back to the point where you have pressure by cracking
open connections. Be very careful the pressure is around 600psi
and a squirt of hydraulic fluid in your eye will leave you with a nasty
squint.
It is unlikely that you have a blockage in
the line but it is the last thing to check if you cannot find anything
else. My money is on the sequence valve. If you are unhappy with
working on the valve try a local hydraulic shop.
Been there done that!
