Let me add one more angle. You (the generic "you" not Robert) have made posts to public forums advocating landing gear up in this situation to get the insurance to pay for things. What you are advocating is insurance fraud which is a crime. Then one day you have an engine out and you do land gear up (maybe inadvertently). If the insurance company becomes aware of your postings, you can be exposed to the risk of insurance fraud and jail time in addition to the very real risk of serious bodily injury and all the other risks and undesirable outcomes pointed out in the quoted post.
I recently read about a criminal lawyer who had a large trout mounted on the wall in his office with its mouth wide open. Under the fish was a brass plaque that read "I would not be here if I had kept my mouth shut." Follow that advise, or better yet, do not do or advocate illegal things.
