Aircraft: Legacy
TT: Approx. 280hrs.
Small amount of play at right outboard elevator attach at approx. 250-260 hr.
This became more noticeable at 280hr. Elevator removed found bearing
completely loose fell out of hinge, bolt worn also. Left outboard bearing
also
checked found rust and some wear (not as much) other hinges in horizontal
appeared
OK. Replaced two outboard hinges, back to flying.
John has been in contact with Lancair and has been assured they are working
on this so easy does it on the info request?
Anyway add elevator shake to preflight along with anything else that's
attached with these bearings.
Photo 1 and 2 bearing fell out
Photo 3 Left outboard showing rust etc.
Sorry I don't have photo of bolt may still be able to get them.
