Shannon:
I had to provide photocopies of the
following:
Pilot certificate
Current medical
Page in pilot's logbook where I was signed off to
solo in the Lancair (they required 10 hours dual to insure me because I had no
Lancair time when I bought the plane)
Page in logbook showing last BFR
Airworthiness certificate
Page in aircraft logbook showing last
annual
Page in aircraft logbook showing total time on
airframe
Page in engine logbook showing total time on engine
and time since major overhaul if applicable (they paid to tear down and inspect
the engine after the prop strike, even though there was no sudden
stoppage).
Page in prop logbook showing total time on prop and
time since major overhaul (they bought me a new prop, but they deducted 1/4 of
the cost of a prop overhaul since I had 500 hrs. on the 2,000 hrs.
TBO).
They also had me do a write-up on how the prop
strike happened and send them digital photos of the damaged prop. No
adjustor ever looked at my plane. They had me get a quote from my local
FBO, then they advanced $9,200 to cover the new prop and the outside
inspection work on the engine components.
Hope this is useful info.
