Ron wanted me
to forward this on.
From what I’ve
seen so far, AIG seems to be top notch.
Their rates are half of what else is out there. My rate for this upcoming year with AIG
will be about 1/3 what I paid last year with Aerospace,
and 1/2 of what Global quoted me.
Sounds like I’m going with AIG. BTW, AIG I what the factory uses for
insurance too.
My only
complaint is they will only write a policy for 250k for a Legacy. They only wanted to do 200k, and after
considerable persuasion and sending them copies of receipts for everything to
prove the value, they agreed to do 250k, even though I was looking for 300k+. 250k will go a long way though.
Ron, one
question, did they allow you the chance to buy your plane back and salvage
parts of it?

My experience with AIG when N27RM was wrecked was great. Very
fair and reasonable settlement, everything was as I expected, and even the
adjuster was a great guy. Although they were very exacting in their
investigation, filling in the blanks, checking logbook records, checking
figures on value, getting bids, etc. my experience was nothing short of
completely favorable. (I just wish I had purchased a little more insurance, but
that was not AIG's fault.)
I am out of the country and cannot email to the Lancair list Shannon,
please forward this reply to the list for me so all can see my comments.
I intend to use AIG for my insurance when N27RM once
again flies. "She" should be in the paint shop before the end of
May.
