Another suggestion:  Go to Wal-Mart.  Purchase a large size automotive
windshield sun shield.  Make a paper pattern of the size and shape you want
in your airplane.  Using the pattern, cut the sun screen to fit your
airplane.  Buy a bunch of small suction cups.  Attach the suction cups to
the sun screen and stick them on the inside of you canopy.  Something stiff
between suction cups (I used 1/16 inch welding rod) will reduce sagging.
Total cost of materials - about $15.  Very effective.  This is not just a
sun shade.  Sun shades some times absorb heat inside the cockpit - bad.  You
need a material that reflects the heat away from you - good.  This is called
a sun shield.
A suction cup will occasionally lose vacuum which requires that you push on
it at pre-flight.  Works for me.
