Thanks for the input. I have a VOR antenna mounted on the ceiling so
something up there will not work. Hopefully Scott can furnish more info on
his antenna.

I posed this question to Bob Archer. He had me install a copper ribbon
antenna longitudinally on the ceiling of the fuse. Each leg 20" long,
connect the coax at the center either with a connector or solder the shield
to one strip and the center conductor to the other strip. No need for a
ground plane or a balun.
