Bill,
That can be a problem, having too much thickness in
the front seat bottoms and then hitting the overhead. I had Jim Griffin
Interiors do Albert's airplane and Jim has some proprietary things he does to
the seats like adding a headrest (either removable or fixed), a dropped seat
bottom allowing that extra layer of foam, a nice bolster design and his own seat
tracks which let the seats go farther aft for tall guys. We put that track
on the co-pilots side only as neither Al or me is too tall at 5'9" (and
shrinking, darn gravity). We got the forward canted fixed headrests and I
would not do that again as they restrict access to the back seat in
flight. We have one heckofa time getting a book or water bottle from
the back. And you need to be an acrobat to get into the back in
flight. Boy tho, they are very comfy with no strain on a long
flight. Jim does a great interior if you can handle the wait and the
$$$. Pockets everywhere, even a pen and Mini Maglite holder sewn
into the sidewall by the stick!
