>>I’m curious to hear more about the
auto-pilot interface and the WSI interface. Are these available now?
What equipment is needed? Another upgrade to the EFIS system (I’ve
got 4.1 A-2 now)? Is an interface to WxWorx planned?
Etc.
The autopilot interface is another first. Peter Stiles and myself
have worked closely with Jim Younkin at Trutrak. The end result is the
world's first EFIS controlled autopilot combination that allows full lateral AND
vertical navigation. The Trutrak Digiflight II VSGV or new Sorcerer will
follow the highway-in-the-sky through the Sierra EFIS-SV Sport or
Pro. Activate
a VFR or IFR approach on your Sierra EFIS, press one button on your Trutrak
autopilot, and watch as your aircraft is commanded through the
highway-in-the-sky, navigate flight-planned routing followed by an approach, or
descend from cruise altitude to any pilot-selected altitude.
I'm
anticipating the WSI interface to be released at the end of April. I'm not
sure if it will be WSI only or other datalink systems too, such as WXWorks,
etc. We'll see...
No,
there is no charge for the new Ver 5.0A software since you have already upgraded
your hardware/software through 4.0x. Make sure to subscribe to the news
digest that Rob Logan posted. Then you'll receive the update automatically
when it is released.
