As mentioned in a recent missive it is = mandatory in the commercial aircraft world. It becomes part of the = repair station's records for that particular non-routine. As far as = stretching shelf lives of these products with whatever witchcraft one = may dream up... I won't buy into that. The manufacturer specifies a = shelf life and the storage conditions during that period for its = product. That is the law in the certified world and there is no reason = to think there is a better way, maybe cheaper though probably not a good = practise. I would be surprised should a manufacturer choose to do a = test on your out-of-date product.
