Subject: question about hanging Walter engine

Hi group,

I’ve been told that the Walter engine should be hung with the nose 1deg down and 1 deg to the right (copilot) side.  The 1 deg down is easily measured off the spinner back plate using a smart level after the aircraft is leveled and I’m sure if have that correctly positioned.  The 1 deg to the copilots side is more difficult to accurately position.  This is what I did and I hope someone who’s done it could comment and set me in the right direction if need be.  I measured from the mounting bolts holding the turbine ring to the engine mount to the very tip of the spinner back plate.   I believe this to be the pivot point of the engine.  Based on this measurement I calculated the 1 deg to be about 11/16” to the right.  I measured 11/16” from the center line of the fuselage and adjusted the engine position to that point.  Is this the best way to properly position the engine?  Is the 1 deg down / 1 deg right the position others are using?

Thanks in advance,
