why do we have the lens covered?

Lorn,

Dirt.  Or - Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

You mean that the air flow around a reverse parabola might actually keep most trash out of the actual Halogen bulb area?  Rain, too?

PS - I have ordered "float glass" from Edmunds.

Scott I am not flying with Halogen bulbs, I have a Q-409, 10 amp, 150,000 beam candle power, 250 hour bulb that I purchased from AS for $20. It appears that the new cost of the quartz 4509 bulb has gone up to $76.50 since I purchased the bulb.

I looked at http://scientificsonline.com/ and the search returns nothing when I type in "float glass". Could you be more or less specific?

Thanks,
