Adam:
I had, have rheumatoid arthritis, which is now in nearly complete remission.
I was treated by Dr. James O'Dell at the Univ. of Nebraska with doxycyline,
methotrexate, and prednisone. I had a large swelling on the back of the left
hand and some swelling on the right wrist and ankle. It was pretty bad, I
couldn't hold a golf club. Now I have regained full use of my left hand and
have little sign of the disease. The amounts of doxycycline and steroids
were gradually reduced and now I do not take any of these. The FAA was
worried about the steroids, but granted a waiver.
