Does
anyone have an opinion on the Monroy ATD 300 Traffic Watch ?
Yes, I operate with this device. Antenna placement can be
critical. Mine is vertically located on the baggage hat shelf and is less
sensitive looking forward when there is a passenger present. At some time
in the future I will place a blade antenna either on the bottom of the cowling
or out on a wing.
Does it work? Yes, well enough for its' cost. It's as good as a
second set of eyes, not perfect but gets your eyes off that fancy moving map and
out the window. Most of the time I never see who is encroaching on my
space - other times I can visually locate the offender because it is close
enough to see. I do turn off the audio when I'm in my
busy Class D airport environment.
Perhaps someone can comment on the TPAS unit.
