My Precise Flight speed brakes have begun to stick half way up. When that happens, they won't retract for me either, even when I remove electrical power. Inspection on the ground, and moving them by hand, does not reveal the blades to be interfering with each other. I can duplicate the sticking when parked. A gentle to moderate "push" helps them retract, and they always do by themselves anyway during landing and taxiing if they were stuck out during landing. I have the motor exposed and can see the action of the slip clutch when they stick during testing, but that doesn't tell me anything. If anyone has had a similar problem and found an answer I would be much obliged. For what it's worth, I had one of the wings off this summer to replace a fuel probe but I then flew 50 trouble-free hours before I started to have this problem. I've got 1300 hours on my plane now. Does anything on those speed brakes wear out? (Precise Fight has not answered my query.) Can the motor clutch be adjusted? Carl La Rue Lancair IVP, 1300 hrs. 740-439-4988 (h) 740-439-4359 (w)
