If any of you have fitted the dust shield to the Lancair supplied instrument
panel can you tell me how you did it?




Hello Pete,

I made 5 small "L" brackets and flush riveted them to the back of the panel.
I installed nutplates in the brackets to accept the machine screws through
the dust cover. The dust cover is very flexible and I found that these
attach points make it conform perfectly to the upper panel. At the rear, I
simply tuck it beneath the lip of  the header tank. I covered it with black
"ultra leather" and it looks almost like I knew what I wuz doin. At the
rear, I cut two slots to allow the forward canopy hinge brackets to pass
through. Let me know if you'd like some photos.
