Subject: Kevlar to protect belly tank?

Hi group,

I have a few questions for those experienced with Kevlar cloth.

Would applying some Kevlar cloth to the exterior of the turbine belly tank (35 gal) add a significant amount of protection to the tank skin?  I was thinking of vacuum bagging 4-bid to the bottom of the belly tank, overlapping the fuselage about 2”.   What I’m attempting to do is improve the abrasion and impact resistance of the tank skin.  I’m not asking about the ability of the internal structure to withstand an impact.  I’m asking about the validity of adding a limited number of Kevlar cloth layers to help protect the tank skin.

Also, are there any major differences between applying Kevlar bid and e-glass other than cutting the material?

Hope someone can help.  Thanks,
