Mr.. Woodward,
Mr.. Kane appears to be inviting you to investigate my website but he does
not tell you how to get there. He also fails to note that he designed and
thus has a vested interest in the PSRU he talks about that has the bad
press. I believe there are several inaccurate statements in his comments.
Some of them I know to be inaccurate assuming he is referring to me as the
"self-appointed authority".
I doubt that there have been 30 power plants delivered, complete with PSRU.
Enginair delivered a few power plants, but only one other than Rahm's ever
flew. The remainder were delivered as partially completed units. The only
one that flew had the prototype PSRU in it - that is the one alluded to
below. EPS, the company that bought out Engineair delivered a few more
units, but only a few of them are flying to my knowledge, This would likely
be around 10 or fewer units total with fewer flying. Silver Wings is a
company that arose out of the ashes of EPS which failed after about a year.
As to the claim that several of these have over 500 hours, I would be very
surprised to find that is true. I think there may be about three or four of
them flying and one or two may have a couple hundred hours, but again, I'd
be really surprised to find this claim to be true. I could be wrong but I'd
sure like to see the proof if I am.
I suggest you see the website referenced by Kane and indicated at the end of

I think the Firewall Forward PSRU (the CamDrive 500) is a good alternative
to the one we're discussing. Like this one, there is no long standing track
record but there are several flying. There have been three known prop
strikes with these units and all three were returned to service after
inspection with no evidence of damage. Take a look at the Firewall Forward
website to get more information on it. I just took delivery of two of
these units and I have to say they appear to be very high quality and they

Of course, you still have to find an engine to attach it to and, so far,
after a good bit of searching I haven't found an ideal answer to this
problem. I am still looking.
Like another respondent, I lost about $70,000 with Engineair and EPS and
would not consider spending any more money with that company or the
succeeding one.
