Just to back up what Rick says and to add a "datapoint" to the discussion,
see the attached photo. This was taken at 13,500 in Rick's supercharged
Legacy. They were truing out at around 280 knots! He was using a modest 27
inches manifold pressure and the burn was 15.3 gph. How do I know this? I
have the inflight panel photo's to prove it. I'd be happy to email them. Not
only does Rick's supercharger add considerable speed to your Legacy, you can
see from the attached photo that the cylinder head temps are well within the
normal range and are uniform across the six cyclinders.
We should all be skeptical of unsubstantiated claims. Let the buyer beware,
and so on. However, in this case, the claims are not unsubstantiated. Rick
is telling it like it is.
