Look at this item http://saf-air.com/oilv.html ,then look at it installed on Rob Logan's Tweety Bird Legacy http://Rob.com/Lancair/2003.03/oil.jpg You can readily see that there is too much "stuff" immediately below the drain plug to install a quick drain without worrying about a retraction problem, and "things" are too close to get the plug out without making a BIG MESS, trust me. Mike Maher makes them, and he gets $125.00 for the "angle" fitting. If we can get 4 builders or flyers who are ready to order, he will make them for $100 each. Just let me know if you want one. What is required, other than your money, is for you to mark the drain plug (after it is torqued and not leaking) on the forward face, or mark the exact location on the plug that faces absolutely forward and ship it to Mike. Mike needs to know where the plug is in relation to where forward is to weld up the fitting, otherwise, it would not even make a good fishing weight! Coordinate with me offline at rbrice@interlinc.net and I will coordinate with Mike for the orders. I will be gone for the Thanksgiving holiday from Monday the 24th not returning until the 4th of December. I will contact you after I return to let you know if we have enough takers.
