Thanks for the reply and photos of the recess you built in your firewall to be able to remove your standby alternator without having to move the engine.  This looks easy enough!

 

Now for firewall fire/heat protection.  Since the original firewall blanket must now be cut to accommodate the recess, how did you protect the additional firewall real estate?  Where did you get the extra material?
