Jim,
A good place to mount a whip (straight) ELT antenna in the Legacy is on the
short bulkhead just aft of the hydraulic pump. The antenna will be
horizontal, but will fit nicely.
Who, after all, is to say what attitude one will end up in if you need the
ELT to work for you? Wing locations are definitely out of consideration.
