I'm fitting the cowling to my IV with the Lancair
Fast build TSIO-550 and have run into some problems.
Curios if other builders have experience this and what the
solution was.

1. The top cowling is 1/2" taller then the prop spinner. The rear sits
in the fuselage firewall joggle correctly. The bottom is aligned to the
spinner
with an equal 3/16" spacing. 1/8" to 3/16" lower on the bottom for
engine sage.
If I trim the 1/2" off the bottom of the top cowling and place back on
the bottom cowl, the
face of the cowling will no longer be vertical. The 3/16" clearance
between spinner and cowling will
be correct at the joggle but will be touching the top of the spinner.

2. The left side exhaust scoop of the Dolly Parton mod is approximately
1" lower then the right. I have check all my measurements and have
verified that the cowlings are level.

3. The left turbo oil can is hitting the bottom of the cowling. The
Dolly Parton mod corrects this.

4. The engine baffling is within a 1/16" of the sides of the bottom
cowling. Engine will hit sides during start and shut down.

Hopefully others have seen these problems.

Thanks
